FAQ: How does Product Activation work?

The activation feature in our products allows us to provide our clients with fully functional software for a 30-day trial period. The time limit is removed by entering an "activation code" when a license has been purchased. The activation process is now fully integrated with our purchasing process and activation codes are normally provided automatically and immediately online after a payment has been made.

Activating a Product

You must have an Internet connection in order to activate our software. Quantum Software Solutions maintains an online database of blocked activation codes, or licenses which have been transferred to another system at the request of customers, to prevent software piracy. If you cannot get access to an Internet connection on the computer on which the software is installed, you will need to contact Technical Support for assistance in activating the software.

  1. If the product is already running, open the About Box. This is located at the bottom of the Help menu, or by right-clicking the icon in the notification area (system tray / bottom right-hand corner of the screen) for background services.
  2. Click the "Activate" button.


  3. Select "I have already purchased and would like to enter my activation code now", then click Next.


  4. Enter the activation code in the box provided.

Reinstalling

The same activation code can be re-used if you are installing the software on the same hardware. When you are provided with your Activation Code, you should keep a record of it for this purpose.

Recovering Lost Activation Codes

You can view your activation codes by logging into the Client Services section of our website and clicking the "Product Licenses" link. If you cannot remember your login, use the Reset Password tool.

If you still can't access the Client Services section, contact Technical Support for assistance in recovering your login and the Activation Code.
