Search Tips
- All searches are case insensitive.
- Up to 10 words can be entered, up to 30
characters each, in each search field.
- Punctuation is ignored by the search engine, except for the hyphen (-) and
period (.) characters.
- Words less than three characters long and other
very commonly used words which would add little value to the search,
such as "as" and "it", are ignored.
- Fuzzy logic is always used so that different forms of a word will also
match, for example send, sending, sent, etc.
- Basic search searches for pages which contain all search
terms, not
just one of them. Exact phrase operators are supported, but custom
boolean operators are not. AND operators will automatically be inserted.
- To search for an exact phrase in basic search or advanced custom search,
surround it with double quotes, e.g. "exact phrase".
- Advanced guided search allows you to build a complex query
without needing to
enter boolean operators yourself.
- Advanced custom search search allows you to manually enter
boolean operators
and exact phrase terms.
- In advanced custom search, All words must be separated by boolean operators.
AND, OR and NOT may be used. Use parentheses to group terms. To include the
word "not" as
a search term, surround it with double quotes.
