SQL Data Scripting Tool »
SQL Data Scripting tool allows you to allows you to quickly and easily script virtually any type of data in a SQL Server database, regardless of its size.
SQL Server 2000 has a very useful feature which allows you to script the schema of a database. However, there is no way to script the data inside a database.
SQL Data Scripting Tool picks up where the useful Generate SQL Script feature in Enterprise Manager leaves off. SQL Data Scripting Tool is useful for distributing
databases, avoiding the hassles of remote backup and restore operations, quickly and easily transferring databases across the internet, and avoiding hours of
tedious typing to create sample data scripts.

Features
 |
Compatible with SQL Server 7, 2000 and MSDE |
| |
SQL Data Scripting Tool works with both the full version of SQL Server 7, SQL Server 2000 and the free version, MSDE. The product has also been tested with SQL Server 2005 Beta 2. |
 |
Script Views and Tables |
| |
Both tables and views can be selected as the source data to script. Scripting views is useful for combining data from multiple tables, or for producing simplified sample scripts, without the need to make structural changes to the database or import data into temporary tables. |
 |
Script the TOP X Rows in Each Table |
| |
You select to script only a certain number of rows in a table. This is useful for producing sample scripts from very large tables or for creating scripts for testing purposes before generating a final script. |
 |
Compatible with All Data Types except IMAGE, BINARY and VARBINARY |
| |
SQL Data Scripting Tool is able to handle all SQL Server data types with the exceptions of IMAGE, BINARY and VARBINARY columns. If you attempt to script a table containing a column with one of these data types, a warning message will be displayed that the data in those columns will not be scripted. You can still script the data in the other columns in the table. |
 |
Automatically Disable and Re-enable Triggers |
| |
The scripts generated by SQL Data Scripting Tool automatically include code to disable all triggers and constraints, and then re-enable them when the INSERT statements are complete. This is usually necessary when inserting data into a group of related tables. |
 |
Script Multiple Tables and Views, or even an Entire Database, in one go |
| |
SQL Data Scripting Tool allows you to select which tables and views to script. This greatly reduces the time required to generate scripts when only data in certain tables has changed. You can also choose to script all tables and views in the database. |
 |
Generate DELETE Statements to Empty Tables |
| |
SQL DELETE statements can be optionally generated and appended to the top of the script to delete all existing data in a table. This is useful when testing sample scripts and copying databases across servers. |
